Why Should You Recycle Printer Cartridges?

With the continuous improvement of people's awareness of environmental protection, more and more people understand the benefits of recycling newspapers, cans, glass and plastic bottles. However, many people do not know that ink cartridges and toner cartridges can also be recycled, so these items will be thrown away directly after being used. These printer cartridges are mainly made of plastic. If they are discarded directly, it will not only pollute the environment, but also waste resources.

Take Australia as an example. Every year, Australians throw away more than 18 million printer cartridges, including laser toner cartridges, ink-jet cartridges, photocopier toner bottles and other printing supplies. Because a large number of printer cartridges were discarded, the government had to build a large number of landfills. However, Americans throw away 350 million printer cartridges every year, while the British throw away 45 million printer cartridges every year. It's clear that more than a billion printer cartridges may be thrown away every year around the world.

A large number of discarded printer cartridges can cause many serious problems. First of all, these discarded ink cartridges are not biodegradable, even if they are buried in the soil. Secondly, these ink cartridges will slowly release toxic organic compounds under the ground, and these toxic substances will penetrate into groundwater through rainwater, resulting in global water pollution. These toxic substances will not only pollute fresh water resources, but also enter the sea with rivers, endangering the lives of many marine organisms, some of which are still food for human.

In addition, when producing new ink cartridge, the sewage and waste gas from the factory will also pollute the environment. According to the survey, each production of a new printer cartridge requires a gallon of oil. If the recycled printer cartridges is used to make remanufactured printer cartridges, it will reduce the amount of oil used. If humans reduce the use of fossil fuels, we can reduce total carbon emissions, which helps mitigate climate change.

Fortunately, attitudes towards printer cartridges recycling are gradually improving. Nowadays, many printer cartridge brands, such as HP, are actively promoting cartridge recycling programs. These companies will recycle ink-jet cartridges, laser cartridges, toner bottles and other waste printing materials. So far, some recycling programs have been successful, and about 31 million discarded cartridges have been recycled.

These recycled discarded printer cartridges will be used to make remanufactured printer cartridges. The quality of these remanufactured printer cartridges is almost the same as that of OEM printer cartridges, and their price is lower than that of OEM printer cartridges. It is well known that about 97% of the discarded printer cartridges are recyclable. Therefore, many printer cartridges can be refilled more than ten times before they are completely scrapped. Compared with the production of brand new printer cartridges, the production of remanufactured printer cartridges can not only reduce the use of oil, but also reduce plastic pollution. At present, you can find a lot of companies in the market that produce remanufactured printer cartridges, such as Asconn. The remanufactured printer cartridges made by Asconn company is not only of good quality, but also of low price, which is the best choice for enterprise users and individual users.
